When I started this painting I had no idea that I could find so much depth in a blue sky. It’s endless— just how it should be. Seems to me that junipers are forever twisting and reaching upwards to the sky, caught in a kind of perpetual longing. For me that’s what life is, a sense of longing for something we can never quite find but never give up searching for.
